User Manual

Welcome to EduNest! This guide is for learners — everything you need to find a course, buy it, learn, track your progress, and manage your account. No technical knowledge is required. Every screen described here is part of the live application.

Browsing & Buying a Course

The storefront

The public site lives at /. From the homepage you can explore courses, bundles, instructors, blog posts, and more.

  • Course catalog (/courses) — browse all courses with search and filters (category, price, level, rating, language). Each course card shows the thumbnail, title, instructor, rating and reviews, enrollment count, and price. Grid and list views are available, and listings paginate (numbered pages or "load more", as configured by the site).
  • Course detail (/courses/[slug]) — the full sales page: hero with title, rating and instructor; key stats (students, duration, language, level); description, learning objectives and requirements; the full curriculum as an accordion; reviews; and recommended courses. If you already own the course the button takes you straight into the player; otherwise it starts checkout.
  • Other public pages include Bundles (/bundles), Instructors (/instructors), Blog (/blogs), About (/about), FAQ (/faq), Gallery (/gallery), Contact (/contact), and Membership (/membership).

Cart & checkout

  • Cart (/cart) lists the courses and bundles you've selected with prices.
  • Checkout (/checkout) shows your order items, lets you apply a coupon code, and presents the order summary (subtotal, discount, tax if enabled, total). Pick a payment method from those the store has enabled (for example card, PayPal, or an offline option like bank transfer). If you aren't signed in you'll be prompted to log in first.
  • A free course (price 0) enrolls you instantly. After a successful paid purchase you land on your dashboard; an offline payment shows an "order placed, payment pending" message until an admin confirms it.

Creating an Account & Signing In

Page Path Purpose
Login /login Sign in with email + password (show-password toggle)
Register /register Create an account: email, password (with a strength meter), confirm
Forgot password /forgot-password Request a reset link by email

Depending on how the store is configured, registration, login, forgot-password, and email/SMS verification may be enabled or disabled, and social sign-in or two-factor login may appear.

Your Learner Dashboard

Once signed in, your portal lives under /learner. The sidebar links every area below.

Dashboard

Path: /learner/dashboard

Your home base: a welcome banner, KPI cards (courses enrolled / completed, lessons done), Continue Learning with progress bars and resume buttons, weekly goals, a personal task checklist, a recent-activity feed, a learning-streak calendar, and recommended courses. If the Certificates or Gamification add-ons are active, you'll also see certificate counts, XP/level, and a leaderboard.

My Courses

Path: /learner/my-courses

Every course you're enrolled in, with stats (enrolled, in progress, completed, hours learned), tabs (All / In Progress / Completed / Not Started), category filter and sort options, and grid or list view. Each card shows progress, lesson count, last accessed time, and a Start / Resume / Review button. Search by title or instructor.

My Bundles (Learning Paths)

Path: /learner/my-bundles

Bundles you own, shown as learning paths with overall progress, per-course completion, and a "next course" indicator. Courses can unlock sequentially — a locked course shows what it unlocks after, or a date.

Page Path Shows
My Progress /learner/progress Overall completion ring, per-course progress, section-by-section breakdown
Grades /learner/grades Quiz results: letter grade + percentage, pass/fail, best-of-attempts, pass threshold, retake/review links

Add-on pages. When the store enables an optional feature add-on, its learner pages appear under /learner/x/<addon> — for example My Certificates at /learner/x/certificates when the Certificates add-on is active. These pages only exist while the add-on is turned on.

Taking a Course

Path: /learn/[slug]

The course player is where you actually learn.

  • Top bar — back link, course/lesson title, a progress bar with percentage, a "Report issue" button, and a sidebar toggle.
  • Curriculum sidebar — sections you can expand, each listing lessons with a type icon, duration, and a completion check (or a lock if the lesson isn't available yet). The active lesson is highlighted; the footer shows your certificate status when Certificates is enabled.
  • Lesson content adapts to the lesson type: video (auto-marks complete once you've watched ~98%), audio, article/assignment (rendered text), PDF/slides (embedded), code snippets, downloadable resources, and external links.
  • Tabs beneath the player: Lesson, Discussion (post and delete your own comments), Notes (private per-lesson notes), and Progress (visual charts).
  • Navigation & actions — Previous / Next buttons, your "X / Y lessons" position, a manual Mark complete for non-video lessons, a Helpful vote, and a local bookmark. Finishing the last lesson shows a "Course Complete!" celebration with a certificate link when available.
  • Report an issue — flag a content error, media issue, broken link, or other problem with a short description.

If a course (or lesson) is locked inside a bundle, the player shows the unlock conditions instead of the content.
